Why should it take drafting his replacement make Alex Smith have his best year ever? Why couldn't he be at least good over mediocre for his time in Kansas City? Saying he is going have his best year ever think he can have 25 touchdowns? His best weapon will be Tyreek streaking down the field but we know he over reads the play and runs to the sidelines out of bounds or does a check off to a running back.
Alex Smith best year is behind him although he will play admirably in attempting to overcome his flaws. He is going be lucky enough not to get concussed and knocked out for a handful of games and then if Mahomes II is doing good may just be benched rest of the season.
The writings on the wall for Alex Smith no matter how he does he is gone.
