Because if they were, this team goes to the SB. If he hits that throw, I'm absolutely convinced that the Chiefs win that game and potentially by double digits. It changes the feel of the entire team and changes how the Steelers deal with the sideline routes.
Do you agree that we win that game with Kirk Cousins under center? And as someone else mentioned, I'm pretty certain we'd have won that game with Trevor Siemian taking snaps. We win that game with a bunch of non-elite guys.
He's fallen to the wrong side of 'just right'. The middle of the road chiefs fans realize that this team could win a championship with adequate, not elite, quarterback play. The only question is whether or not we think we'll get adequate.
I'm unwilling to give the person that passed on that throw another shot at it. Because if they are in the post-season again next year, there will be a point in some game where he has to hit that throw and I'm no longer confident that he'll even attempt it.
