Some teams just ride unsustainable runs of fortune. Good Red Zone defense is not negatively correlated with defense between the 20s. As you no doubt saw from the graphic, no team has ever given up more yardage while giving up under 20 PPG.

This team is like the 2006 Bears, '94 Chargers, 2001 Patriots, and several others that I'm likely forgetting. All average teams, but they had enough good fortune that they could survive over a small sample size.
