I disagree with your take about the worst thing that we could hope for.
I think the worst thing we actually have to deal with is fans who watch a 16-game regular season in which the chiefs go 12 and 4 and not one of the 4 losses has a post game dialogue about how the biggest reason the game was lost was an "inability to stop the run."
The Chiefs have played a few games in the rain this year and Alex Smith has proven to be a guy who can play QB in the rain.
