I got the liver biopsy done and I am in some pain. Oddly, they did it fairly close to my heart and not on my side. I don't remember anything after they said they'd numb the area with lidocaine, but I dimly recall saying, "It burns." I got other stuff through my port that made the ceiling jiggle. A nurse brutally shaved me, but not where they put the leads, so I got a wax-effect when those were ripped off. Sounded like Velcro. Anyhow, I have a bandage over the site, it hurts like hell when I sneeze or cough, hurts when I sit or get up, hurts more getting in and out of bed, and I can't lift over 5 lbs. for a week. I've got green antiseptic stain all over me, but I can shower tomorrow. I've been taking my pain pills, though I've been avoiding them as much as possible, until now. The pain should only last a couple of days and right now, it's not so bad if I am sitting still. That could be the lingering effects of the hydrocodone, for all I know. I will be downing one before I work my way under the covers.
It's good that my cousin is visiting since he can bring up firewood with the wheelbarrow and go to the store with me and get softener salt, a gallon of milk (3 lbs. over my limit) and other items I can't safely handle now. Ow, it hurts to burp, too... so, I will lay off the sodas for a bit and drink water. It's better for me, anyway, but when the tongue still has chemo induced metal tasting coating, water is not very tasty now. I hope that goes away soon.
The results of the biopsy should be in next week. I pray I can get the immunotherapy trial, because how things have been going the past few months, without it, I am thinking this was my last Christmas.
