Our other cat is an English Shorthair, that looks a lot like KCUnited's cat. He has never met a person or animal that is not his friend from the instant they meet. He has a great personality, and is legendary among the cdcox cats.
We have a two cat rule in our house (never more, seldom fewer), and so my daughter picked out a 5 year old tortoise shell originally named "Butters" who has been renamed "Stella", but I just call her cat. She has adopted me. When my daughter eventually moves out, I may not let her take cat with her. I really like this cat.

Cat (aka Butters and Stella) passed a few weeks ago to kidney disease. Our daughter did move out and lucky for us she could not keep pets at her apartment -- so Cat was our cat during her too short time with us. Of the four cats we have lost during our 33 year marriage, she was by far the youngest. Kinda hit me hard. I missed her not greeting me at the door. She was extremely hedonistic and it was a pleasure to see a creature enjoy life so much.
Nicoli, the English short hair is still holding his own, but is showing his age.
After the passing of Cat, we have broken the two cat rule. The opportunity to adopt a 4 month female kitten and a 1 year old male seemed like the right move. So we have three cats now. There is a bit of friction between the two males, but most of the time detente prevails with minor persuasion from a super soaker on the younger male. We ensure Nicoli is given respect due to his status, age, and that this has been his safe home all his life.
I'll post pics of all 3 tomorrow.
