Davis isn't a 4 year vested veteran, so no, his contract was not guaranteed because he was on the Week 1 roster. When he was traded, his salary was off the books. Green Bay paid for a few weeks, then cut him. The Jets had him on the roster for less than a day, so they owed him nothing.
The Chiefs likely signed him to a $600k per year deal, which is normal for a 4th year player but they'll only owe him a Pro Rata share. So if he's on the roster on Sunday, the Chiefs would owe him $37,500.00 dollars with the maximum being $337,500 for the remainder of the season.
That won't even crack the Top 51.
