Yeah, but what did they do exactly? From my understanding, they asked him previous set "baseline" questions which he answered correctly (or "passed"). They checked his eyes. Asked if he was "okay".
It's not as if they did a CT scan of his brain to verify that no swelling occurred or that his normal functions were impaired.

Well, he IS hurt. He has a laceration behind his ear(s) and bumps all over his head. Often times, the concussion symptoms don't occur for days after the initial injury.
I'm sorry but I can see no reason to fault him for taking precautionary measures with his
brain, especially when there's so much that doctors and science don't know about brain function and trauma.
