Its tough to bench Smith, he hasnt played bad. Its hard to say whos better than who, but
I do think Foles makes the O a little more dangerous to face. Im in the camp that Foles may lower the floor a bit for the Chiefs on his bad days, but he also raises the ceiling. I think its hard to argue against that.
Basically if you feel this team can go all the way with Smith, stick with Smith. If not then Foles the choice.
Its similar to the Smith/Keapernick swap back in SF. Except Foles is a much better QB than Kap. So was Smith, but I think Harbaugh and staff felt they had reached the ceiling with Smith, and figured it was worth the gamble on Kaps potential. It almost worked.
