What we know...
KC didn't have a third rounder
Denver traded up using their 3rd rounder to move up.
This was a very deep draft with 1st/2nd round talents falling into the deep third and early fourth round.
Barring injury, Lynch wouldn't play in KC for at least 2 years.
So...
We would have Lynch (who wouldn't play for 2 years) and then picks starting in late round 4 to help fill holes on the roster to outbid Denver to move up.
Instead, Dorsey turned that into Chris Jones, KeiVarae Russel, Parker Ehinger, Eric Murray and DJ White.
I wanted Lynch, too...but passing (due to not having a third) and adding all that talent to the existing roster that will contribute the next 2 years (where Lynch would have sat and learned) probably means the Chiefs in 2016 and 2017 are going to be a much better team that if we had moved up for Lynch.
Alex Smith is under contract the next 3 years and there are going to be more QBs in the draft that Dorsey will scout and hopefully draft.
