So... I guess I"ll take the playoff appearance. Maybe we'll get lucky and face a soft bitch team like Denver in the first round.

You want shit- chucking reeruns? Here is a list for you:
Brian Hoyer
Marcus Mariota
Brock Osweiler
Peyton "glue factory" Manning
Ryan Tannehill
Tyrod Taylor
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Brandon Weeden
AJ McCarron
Johnny Manziel
Matt Schaub
Jimmy Clausen
Ryan Mallett
Matt Hasselback
Sam Bradford
Matt Cassel
Kellen Moore
Jay Cutler
Teddy Bridgewater
Nick Foles
Case Keenum
Blaine Gabbert
Colin Kaepernick
All the above have started games in the league this past season. Any of them interest you as a better option than Alex Smith? Face it, Smith is at worst in the top third to top quarter of starting QBs in regards to talent/ability, and subsequently in a position to be a winner. End the Alex narrative already - this franchise could be doing a lot worse at the position.
