Methicillin =/= triclosan.
Methicillin is a beta lactam that works via lysis of the bacterial cell well. MRSA is particularly hard to treat because a cleft where the active agent could attach is effectively blocked.
Triclosan is only bacteriostatic via inhibition of fatty acid synthesis. Once it is gone the bacteria resumes growing.
