I used to know a few of the Playmates. With the websites they all started and then internet porn, it was clear to see Playboy's time had passed. I contributed comics I drew for Kerri Kendall's site and hung out with her a few times. Weird chick, really weird. I also knew Petra Verkaik and won a breakfast "date" with her in Chicago and got her to come to a Comicon here in KC and we took her out to the Hereford House. A year later, I got Angela Melini to come to the Comicon and she had dinner at my house. My friend Chipp's 40th birthday was the same day, so he got a unique guest for the party.
I haven't spoken with any of them since 2006 and once you see behind all the smoke and mirrors, they really aren't all that special, just chicks who take their clothes off and get paid, but don't generally dance around poles.
