Yeah, I suspect it happens in any industry where people become very rich.
The thing I don't quite understand is why they have to abuse unwilling people when there are likely lots of other people flinging themselves at them. I guess it's an ego thing of "I get to pick" instead of "I get to choose from these nominees".
On a side note, I'm sitting in a diner right now listening to a guy talking about his sexual adventures at the next table. He's talking about his online conversations with Filipina women and stating his doubts that they're really women, particularly when they're asking him to send them money.
He also reported driving a cab, and I'll just tell you the first paragraph of the story. "This guy got in my cab and said, 'I'll give you $100 if I can give you a [euphemism for oral sex]. And it was a slow night and I could use the hundred bucks, so..."
