No way Boras lets him sign a long term deal at the possible bottom of his potential worth.
But, if he would sign, go for it. His defense isn't going away, stealing bases ain't going away. We need those skills badly. His WAR is already top level in the league. He can only get better at age 25.
We have been paying $17 million year for Holliday. After the new CBA kicks in, that's at least = to $20 Million per year, probably closer to $22 million. Hollidays money was close to top $ when he signed. We have $20 million freed up and can increase our payroll at least another $10-20 million from last year. Goold thinks we can have a $150 million payroll.
