There's only about 10 powerhouse football programs in the country, then another 15 very good ones. The other 100 D1 schools are trying to get into that second tier once in a while but it's never sustainable. (Same thing we see in basketball). Kansas or Kentucky or Oregon State or the other 80 schools could theoretically *try* and win but it's a long term losing proposition.


KSU will be in the same boat very shortly. And if I was a bettor, I'd be shorting Mizzou to even go .500 after Pinkel leaves.
