I do that when I make a Southwestern Veggie Burger but can be done for a regular burger.
Chicken strudel sandwich.
Basically a chicken sandwich in phyllo dough. - Sautee some onion for a few minutes; then some garlic; then add spinach and sautee until it wilts. Takes about 2 mins.
- Use chopped cooked chicken and mix with swiss, or any other white cheese, salt and pepper; add some whisked egg, salt and black pepper; then mix it all up.
- Place mixture between Phylo dough.
- Coat one layer of dough with cooking spray ( or whatever fat you want to make it stick) and about a tablespoon of bread crumbs. Repeat 3 layers more. Press them all together.
- Then place chicken, onion, spinach, cheese and egg mixture along long edge of dough with a half inch border, roll-up like a jelly roll and leave seam-side down on a baking sheet covered with spray or whatever you want so it doesn't stick. Tuck ends under.
- Brush evenly with some butter and spinkle some paprika on top. Preheat oven to 375° and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
It's really good. I've never frozen it but I guess you could and then just bake 'em.
