On May 29, the Royals were last in the AL in home runs, slugging percentage, OPS, and runs scored, and fired hitting coach Pedro Grifol and replaced him with Dale Sveum.

Monday night, Omar Infante hit a three-run homer as the Royals beat up Justin Verlander as KC beat the Tigers, 11-8.

Last night, Alex Gordon and Mike Moustakas homered as part of a seven-run 2nd inning against Max Scherzer to pick up their ninth straight win, 11-4.

KC is in first place this late in the season for the first time since August 29, 2003
