You know what I always felt bad about? You ever run into those people who almost instantly have BO. Not that curry infused funk of living in and sweating up the same clothes for a week, but that acrid, almost sweet, scent of someone you could tell showers regularly, but their glands were at war with them. You can tell that the scent is coming from their glands, not percolating on their body surface. I ran into 2-3 girls in HS who were like that. From 5-6 feet away, they were well put together, but brush by them and yeesh!!
Very analogous to those who don't have the scent sensors for when their shower towel has gone sour. I HATE that. I'n VERY sensitive to it. They hang their wet towel up thinking it's just drying out, unaware it's gaining the pungent odor of mildew with each use. I had a roommate in college whose bathing linens were literally giving me a headache, and he would bury his nose in them, breathe deep and say 'there's nothing wrong with this, I laundered it last week.'
