WEYMOUTH, Mass. — A 36-year-old food service worker at a Weymouth middle school has pleaded not guilty to having sex with her friend's 15-year-old son.

Janelle Foley was arraigned Thursday in Quincy District Court on four counts of statutory rape. She was held on $5,000 bail. If she makes bail, she must submit to GPS monitoring and stay away from the boy and his family.

Prosecutors say Foley, a mother of four, raped the boy in November and December during holiday parties at his family's home.

Foley's attorney says she has struggled with depression and a drug problem and has no prior record.

School officials sent an automated message to parents Wednesday saying administrators were informed of the allegations involving a Chapman Middle School employee. The worker has been placed on administrative leave.
