Spring, asparagus, morels and dinner
 
We got a solid 3 inch rain this morning. Yesterday we started seeing asparagus spears in road ditches at the farm. Hit the timber this pm and scored a few emerging morels, way more this week. Didnt have a ton of fish filets but soon will.

This is epic season for awesome food

Made a asparagus/morel cream sauce over fehttuchini tonight. The missus was pleased as we work through a bunch of stuff with family. This is the sort of thing that helps calm us down and be thankful for all we have.

Happy easter to all, hug those kids, double hug the grands.

My advice would be when you score on the asparagus and morels look into quiche recipes for a morning breakfast.

morels just popped up this week in SE Kansas. i went to 4 places last week and only found a couple. friend of a friend found 50 today. i should have called in sick. ;)

Sounds like good stuff. I made tuna steaks baked slowly in olive oil and then portobello mushrooms with broccoli Brussels sprouts cherry tomatoes and small potatoes. Avacado dip with sour cream and a couple lemons and garlic. Don’t care for avocado but it’s good for you so I try to find ways to incorporate it into the diet. Served all that on top of some basmati rice.

That was last Sunday for Passover.

Would have much preferred fresh caught walleye, northern pike and yellow perch with asparagus and morels like you mentioned but I can’t complain lol

We had some great asparagus last night at a seder dinner for maundy Thursday. Mmm great lamb also, church ladies can really cook.
