Measuring arm length.
I got curious about how I measure up, so I looked for how arm length is measured by the NFL. Apparently I found the only thing in the world that is not on the internet.
I found one definition that said it's "from the top of the bicep to the fingertip", and there's no way that's correct. That's missing the whole shoulder joint. I saw another diagram that shows a measurement from the top of the deltoid muscle to the fingertip, and that makes more sense. But most text says it's from the biceps. Anyone know?
I measured my distance from the top of the deltoid and came in at about 32 inches. I'm kind of long-armed, but that would make a lot of these football players seem kind of stumpy since they're all taller than me. So maybe the top of the deltoid isn't right. If I measure to the top of the bicep, I come in at 27 1/4, which seems really short since, as mentioned earlier, I have generally long arms. What should I be measuring?
