Double dip predictions

This topic came up on the athletic football podcast. There is a long and successful history of teams, double dipping at position groups in the same draft. The Chiefs have done this recently with Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith. There seem to be some very positive development benefits when you have young guys coming up together.

Who do you think the Chiefs could draft this year that would fit this pattern? I think the obvious one is along the defensive line.

So name the players, the position group, and the rounds the players would be drafted.

Not sure about the players, but maybe RB? I could see one in rds 3/4, pick your favorite in that range, and another in rd 7.

If the Chiefs grab Nolen or Harmon in the first, I’m running to the podium to grab another in the second or with the Titans pick.

You could make an amazing DL between that and what we have coming back.

We certainly need to start planning for what we'll do when Chris Jones is gone, but if we take DT at #31, I'd sure hope that they look to other positions before they come back to DT.

DT makes the most sense but I think RB is the actual most likely one. I could see grabbing a guy they like in the first four then a flyer on a speed guy or returner project late.

DL or OL, RB would be fun though.

A couple DBs before it's over. Seems like it happens every year.

Are we counting Edge and Defensive Tackle as double-dipping? If that's the case I really hope they do double-dip the DL. Chiefs are pretty meh outside of Jones and George. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if they took two DTs and an Edge. Recent Super Bowl shows the importance of strong lines.

I wouldn't mind if they double-dipped Wide Receiver, either.

As far as names, who really knows but I'll throw out a few possibilities:

Harmon or Nolen in the 1st, then Tuimoloau in the 2nd. Add TJ Sanders if you triple-dip.

Egbuka or Burden in the 1st OR Royals or Bond in the 2nd, then T. Felton or R. White in later rounds.

Or none of the above, lol.

I'd guess DT with one in the 1st or 2nd and one in the 4th or 7th. I feel like they want a stout, start now type and a guy they can develop ala Wharton that might be a bit undersized but can produce some pass rush and be a moveable piece early on.

If you want a proper guess, I'll go with Joshua Farmer in round 2 and Elijah Roberts in round 4 because of who I know they have looked at.

If you wanted my personal preference, it'd be Alfred Collins in round 2 and Davin Vann in round 4.

Mentioned it in another thread. Draft 3 DL on day 3. Just ****ing hammer the draft with those guys bc there are so many high upside guys. This just doesn’t happen often. Take advantage
