Who could be there at 31
 

not sure if this is a fun exercise or not, but I was trying to work out who can be there at 31 if the Chiefs stand pat. I went position by position and looked at guys I thought were "very likely" to go in the 1st round, and ended up with the 32 names below:

Based on what will happen in the real draft:

1. Is there anyone I have missed as a "very likely" first rounder?
2. Is there anyone I have included you think is not "very likely" to be a first rounder?
3. Based on the above (I guess excluding QB), is there anyone on this list that you do not want to be a Chief?

Omarion Hampton has a pretty good shot of going in the first.

The Chiefs are getting a pretty good player on Day 1.

This is very much the conclusion I came to!

I think it's shaping up nicely for us to nab an impact player on the defensive line. I'm leaning a defensive tackle, but maybe an EDGE guy?

All I know is there are going to be at least 4-6 guys that are going to get drafted in the first round that nobody expected to be, and that will send players tumbling down the round that nobody saw falling. Happens every year.

Hampton, Conerly, Simmons, Starks, Pearce, Stewart, Harmon, Grant, Nolen all have a chance IMO.

I’d be ecstatic with Hampton, Nolen, or Harmon specifically.

I’d accept Conerly and long term probably be happy with it. We just likely don’t see an immediate return on that pick.

I know this won’t shock some of you but I will likely still be available at 31.
