2/23 mock
Resign
DJ Humphries 2Y 12m- has an offseason to get to know the play book and get in shape. A year removed from one injury Marquise Brown 3Y 27m- a perfect number 3. Has good chemistry with Mahomes. Carson Wentz 2Y 8m- solid back up Semaje Perine 2Y 10m- a really nice 3rd down back Nick Bolton 5Y 63m- Spaggs loves his leadership. I think he is fine if we can get an athletic LB to play next to him. I feel Tranquil really lost a step or two Charles Omenihu 3Y 30m- a year removed from knee injury. Should be a solid starter. Free agent signing Bobby Brown DT 4Y $40m- run stuffer that can push the pocket. Only 24 years old still. A nice compliment next to Jones. Payton Turner DE 3Y $24m- 25 year old big (66 275) DE that fits the Spaggs mold. Jamin Davis LB 1Y 4m- a past first rounder with high upside. Hasnt put it together. But maybe we take a chance and see what we can do with him. 64 235 with 4.4 speed. Trade- we trade out of the first round with the jets and pick up extra picks. The Jets want to trade up to take a QB. Either Milroe or Dart. Getting the fifth year option on him. Jets-pick 31, Skyy Moore, Mike Danna Chiefs- pick 37, 4th rounder, 5th rounder, 26 3rd rounder. Draft 2. Tate Ratledge OG 66 325 Georgia- big physical guard with good pass pro. Day one starter at RG for Trey Smith. 2. Anthony Belton LT 66 345 North Carolina State- big nimble guy with 3 years of starting experience. I think if he played at 330lbs he would be really good. Can use next year to develop body and learn. Battles with Kingsley for the future at LT. The loser backs up Thuney and takes LG in a year or two. 3. Savion Jones DT 65 290 LSU- drafted to groom behind Jones. Has a very similar game as he can rush from inside and out. Has very nice quickness. Can take some stress off jones body so he is fresher at the end of the year. 3. Ollie Gordon RB 61 230 Oklahoma State- big physical back with good speed. Has good pass catching ability. Would be better playing at 220-225. 4. Riley Mills DT 65 305 Notre Dame- coming off a knee injury. But has a lot of potential. 4. Donte Thornton WR 65 205 Tennessee- big WR with good top end speed. 5. Justin Barron LB 64 230 Syracuse- was a safety that grew into LB great speed and coverage skills. 7. Justin Walley CB 6 190 Minnesota- can on the outside or slot. 7. Barron Sorrell DE 64 260 Texas- string DE that has good pass rush skills. Roster QB- Mahomes, Wentz RB- Pacheco, Gordon, Perine, Steele WR- Rice, Worthy, Brown, Thornton, Remigio, Ty Thornton TE- Gray, Wiley, Hendershot, Kupp LT- Humphries, Belton LG- Thuney, Kingsley C - Humphrey, Nourvad RG- Ratledge, Hanson RT- Taylor, Morris, Driscol DE- Karlaftis, FAU, Thompson DT- Jones, Jones, Mills DT- Brown, Ika, Lovett DE- Omenihu, Turner, Sorrell LB- Bolton, Chenal, Jones LB- Tranquil, Barron, Davis CB- McDuffie, Taylor CB- Watson, Williams NB- Roland-Wallace, Walley S - Hicks, Connor S - Cook, Nazeeh Johnson |
I'm not paying Perine 5M a year. Thats paying him more than James Conner. Dude was cute last year. I like him, but I feel like all of your contracts are BS.

Payton Turner at 8AAV? He blows goats. Jamin Davis at 4m? wtf Perine at 5AAV? Every one of those is vet min. Wentz at 4 AAV is high but not way high. Still higher than I like. No way this team signs Humphries for 2 years when he needs to prove he can be something for one. 6 AAV feels like too much. He needs an incentive-laden deal with a low base for one year IMO. Bolton is in line with where I"'d be comfortable. I fear it might be low. Marquise Brown, I'd like that deal enough. Might be realistic too. Omenihu feels low, probably more like 12 AAV but I'd like him at 10. It feels really rich for Bobby Brown. I like him but not 10 AAV like him. Greg Gaines was better at NT coming out of LA a couple of years ago and he got 2/7. I can't fathom Brown getting four to five times that. He doesn't have a lot of solo tackles, tfl, or sacks. I think he's solid and might get 2/9. I dunno man, a lot to be desired with the contracts. As for the draft... Tate Ratledge feels like a 3rd rounder. High 2nd is awful IMO. Maybe at 66. If we're taking an OG at 37 it better be one of Booker, Jackson, or maaaybe Savaiinaea. Overall, I do like the way the O-Line looks. Just looking at the end justifying the means. Not sure how I feel about Sai'Vion Jones and his consistency but if he's bulking up and moving to DT full-time, I like it a lot more than the projections to DE. Riley Mills before the 6th feels rich to me but eh... Dont'e Thornton in the 4th is worse. He's slow man. Good top end? Eek I'd like to see you put a CB in there where you have Mills. I wouldn't mind a WR but a different one. I'm being hard on you in this one. I feel like it has got good direction but I can't reconcile some of the moves as ideal. |
I’m no expert but here are my thoughts…
-I like that you’re bringing back Brown, Humphries, Omenihu, and Bolton! -I’d rather pay Hunt than Perine, he’s a decent 3rd down back but didn’t show us much -I like the Belton pick, but would rather have Booker than Ratledge if he’s available -I don’t understand why Gordon fell off in projections, but I think that’s high for him Thanks for sharing! More mocks! |

Sometimes guys look really slow on the field and surprise you when they get timed. Sometimes they do the opposite, look fast and run slow. I never once recall pumping Milum as a "top-10" player. I felt like he'd be a legit LT option in round 1 for us but cited that his arms might be too short BEFORE the Senior Bowl. Stick to proposing absolutely unrealistc trades and telling us how good round 6 and 7 players are. Toodles. |

And you were way off on Thornton. Just makes me question. |

Not a bad day for Ratledge. Definitely helped his stock. And great hair.

Just throwing numbers out there. Not sure on this. Sorry it isn’t what it should be. I just figured being a veteran that made some big plays e we would bring him back and possibly give him a bigger role?
