The Pitt. Max

Watched it last night. Super good! It will remind you of ER because of the frantic pacing and Noah Wylie. But it carves out its own niche.

It’s doing the format of each episode is near realtime of an hour of the ER doctors shift

15 episodes and the first hour starts at 7am when shift starts.

Check it out!

I am looking forward to watching it.
I saw that Critons family was not happy, thought it looked too much like ER with Wiley in it.

ER is the best medical show.

ER is the best medical show.

It has a feel of ER some for sure. It’s the same creators and set in an ER.

But since this show is set almost exclusively inside a Pittsburgh ER over one day, it won’t deal with the outside world drama like love life’s and personal issues. For now anyway.

I never watched ER but fun fact the ER in that show was based loosely on Cook County Hospital in Chicago where I've been admitted to

Wild beyond belief experience(s). The people that show up for those jobs everyday are a different breed

Never appreciated these types of shows until that event so will definitely tune into this

Absolutely. Heroes. Every single one.

Never much got into medical shows. I think due to my parents watching Dr Kildare and Marcus Welby MD all the damn time.

I watched E1 last night and it felt really authentic

I bet ER doctors hear more shit than priests as people probably say all kinds of stuff when they're bleeding or broken (I was a curtain between a guy who got his gun hand blown off in a shootout and was candidly telling the doctor about how he was certain he hit the other guy first and asked if he was also in the same ER LMAO)

Definitely not a show I could binge due to the heaviness of the content which is a compliment to the show

Yep. Seems pretty realistic to me. Other than I doubt there is that many emergencies in such a small amount of time. But there could be days for sure that happens. Especially in inner city hospitals.

I like the realtime in one day format. Similar to the 24 tv show gimmick.

The "walking dead" reference in E1 where nursing home/assisted living staff show up for their shifts to find people in need of emergency care and how the ER staff can set their clocks to their arrival everyday was pretty jarring (I know that’s every hospital)

The comment of "who has it worse, us or them" just seems like something I would say haha

Watching E2 tonight

I generally abhor hospital shows. My wife could recite Greys Anatomy lines as they're being said. You name it, she watches it.

The only halfway tolerable show I'd seen was House, and just because the guy was such a hilarious asshole to his staff and patients alike.

She started this one yesterday, and it was able to draw my interest away from my phone and actually give a shit what's happening.

I think the single shift format is the biggest hook, and everything seems pretty fast paced.

Some of the subject matter was pretty ****ing brutal, so it may not be for everyone.

I'm not easily bothered by things on TV but

Spoiler!

Yea, that episode got me too. Probably my favorite episode of the series so far. But eh entire show is just so well done. Only unreal thing might be the amount of life or death situations that have happened in the 10 hours so far in the shift. But thankfully they show a lot of routine/urgent care as well.
