Should CJ95 continue to freelance?
We've seen by now that Chris Jones has free reign to line up on the d line wherever he likes, moving someone else inside to his d tackle spot if he wants the end.
D line has looked pretty poor in a lot of situations rushing the passer. Today, against a good o line and mobile qb, the d line without Jones was all over Russell Wilson the entire game and sacked him 5 times. The d line was consistent all game, with the right guys in the best positions. Kinda feels like Jones should stay put at his d tackle spot where nobody can match his production, and just let our ends rush from where their natural position is. They don't have the talent to move inside just to satisfy Jones desire to rush the passer from a more forgiving spot. |
Russell's moves are rated in geriatric metrics

Thought his presence was missed with them being able to rush down the middle easily, especially in the first half. If CJ was there then that doesn't happen.

They've won Superbowls letting CJ pick his mismatch and make plays on 3rd down. No they should not stop because the dline had a good game without him.

Now that Omenihu is back, I'd rather see less of it, to be honest.

They got 5 sacks today but they also gave up over 200 yards rushing.

I pretty sure they gave up a bunch of rushing to keep "moonball" from hitting Pickens for 2-3 chunk plays. I'm ok with that.

It was odd to see what might have been possibly the best DL showing this season w/o CJ for sure but I'm not going to argue with the results.

The topic is not are we fine without 95. We clearly need 95 in the middle. The topic is, would the line benefit from Jones staying put in the middle. |
I think CJ needs to play primarily inside with the occasional move to the edge.

Danna was a beast today... This idea may have some merit...
