Underrated is definitely fair. He's a solid and legitimate starting NFL QB.
But I've also seen talk of him being an MVP candidate and that's just silly.

I think MVP would go to Tyreek right now. Obviously we’ve got a lot of football left to be played, but..
It’s looking like this is the best season in about 10 years for a non-QB to have a chance of winning.
But, yeah, regarding Goff’s MVP odds, I do understand why they say it. He’s the QB of one of the best teams in the league and they don’t have a ton of star power. Makes sense.

Always had him on my list of better deep ball throwers in the league. And he's a solid intermediate passer as well when things are going well.
I wouldn't say he's 'prime' Matt Ryan because prime Matt Ryan won an MVP and deservedly so. But he's a poor man's Ryan in that he can be really good when a plus team is in place around him.
He's a solid throwback thrower. Kirk Cousins may be his best analogue though I think Cousins has demonstrated far greater consistency. He's not going to make much happen off script. He's not terribly mobile or a plus improviser. But if you're looking for someone that can operate an offense well, he's fine.
I wouldn't go much further than that, though.

Funny. Fitzmagic said the same thing- Goff is a poor man’s Matt Ryan. Goff took some offense to it on a postgame show with Fitz and the boys.. but it’s really not a negative. You could do a lot worse than Matt Ryan.
