I grew up being an Oriole fan mostly because they were a good team and on TV a lot in the late 60's early 70's. He sucked at hitting but it was fun to watch him field.

Ok....totally thought this thread was gonna be about a porn star with legendary dick sucking skills.

Hope Willie Gay Jr had nothing to do with this death.

Those were dominant teams. Three straight world series 69-71, he was WS MVP in 70. He had some pop for a 3b of that era and he and Mark Belanger are the best RHS of the infield of all time. RIP.

I remember the 71 World Series against my Pirates and Brooks loomed large. The Orioles still have the only pitching staff in MLB history with four pitchers all having 20 wins. A record that I think will never be broken.
The '71 Orioles produced not one, not two, but four 20-game winners - Dave McNally, Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar, and Pat Dobson.
