You oldsters like me remember Midnight Special?

Burt Sugarman has finally seen fit to release his recordings of the TV show and many uncut for tv versions to Youtube. Lot of gems so far but also lots of lipsyncers. Don Kirshner Rock Concert was also good in the day.

Anyway I found a great Steely Dan song that was incredible from 73 the best version of SD.

Thats Jeff Skunk Baxter playing slide( Rick Derringer did the slide in the studio on the album good but like skunk live) Denny Diaz is behind a great lead player on Rythem behind skunk.(He soloed on many hits for SD). Walter Becker on Bass but a fine damn 6 string tele player in his own right.

Denny Diaz with the telecaster used the sitar on the original recording. Palmer handles most of the vocals and skunks on percussion.

The late Great Johnny Winter. Most blues fans know this but his start was playing guitar in Muddy Waters band.

I must have been out partying as I don't recall Genesis on TMS. And Phil Collins was were he belonged, being the best drummer in the business.

This is going to be ugly the amount of time I will listen to these.

Forgot about that show. But midnight was a little late for me at that time.

Yeah, fond memories.

I also like the Old Grey Whistle Test, plenty of gems from that show on YouTube.

Such a great band Jeff Lynne was phenomenal. Got to see them 3 times live always innovative. Burt Sugarman is kinda slow walking the release to Youtube but I am all in. Also if you were and Ike and Tina Turner fan a whole lot in there. Loved that band to bad Ike was such an idiot.
