So lets talk some legit options for our pick.
So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.
I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids. Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits. So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at... |
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Firmly believe that Willie Gay, Jr. will be the steal of the 2020 NFL Draft. <br><br>✅ 4.46 40-yard dash <br>✅ 39.5 inch vertical <br>✅ 11’4” broad jump<br><br>These are back-to-back plays against Alabama in 2018: <a href="https://t.co/6tD1397vXo">pic.twitter.com/6tD1397vXo</a></p>— Cole Patterson (@colelpatterson) <a href="https://twitter.com/colelpatterson/status/1247296301580062720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 6, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Watch him close... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Wish he'd trust his eyes more because when Willie Gay Jr. clicks into a running play his closing speed is insane. Thanks for starting this thread it is needed. 100% trust Veach. My amateur opinion and the pick that would currently make me jump off the couch would be JK Dobbins. Fills both an immediate and future need and provides us with a respectable running game.

I’d love Gay, Swift, or just about whatever talent falls to us.

Some Patrick Queen
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Make all my wishes come true, oh<br>All I want for Draftmas is Patrick Queen<br><br>Queen LB #8<br><br>+ Range<br>+ Vision<br>+ Route I.D.<br>+ Run key & fits<br>+ Quick trigger to close<br>+ Body control approaching blocks<br>+ Improved block deconstruction as the year went on <a href="https://t.co/XyoCtjIVza">pic.twitter.com/XyoCtjIVza</a></p>— Matt Lane (@ChiefinCarolina) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChiefinCarolina/status/1246101915802447872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 3, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">PLEASE?<br><br>For a "raw coverage LB" he certainly seems to make some of the quicker, correct reads in this LB class. I’d be fine with Gay, Murray or Queen at 32.

I don’t think Murray or Queen will be there unfortunately. I like Gay, but would want to do a trade down first like we did with Chris Jones.
Honestly I could really see Veach pulling the trigger on another weapon. If Aiyuk is still there, I can’t see Veach passing on him. Also think Raegor is another guy to keep an eye on. Both of these guys are way better than his combine showed. |
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Antoine Winfield Jr S #11<br><br>Some durability concerns exist but the versatility and playmaking ability is off the charts.<br><br>- + eyes/ball tracking in CF<br>- Tops vertical routes<br>- + Route ID<br>- Man coverage ability<br>- Will fly downhill and get physical<br>- Good athlete with + range <a href="https://t.co/9qzAFIXJxe">pic.twitter.com/9qzAFIXJxe</a></p>— Matt Lane (@ChiefinCarolina) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChiefinCarolina/status/1245024476103938055?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 31, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Patrick Queen > others. But he won't be available. He would be a perfect pick for us though.
Oooor we could figure out how to get Simmons. But I'm just biased because he's from beautiful sunny Olathe. |
Honestly at this point the only pick i wouldnt be happy about is a qb at 32. This team has as many wants as any other but probably less NEEDS than anyone. It's a beautiful position to be in at draftmas.
