Article listing every teams worst draft pick

I'm not going to copy and paste the entire article. It's too long and will scare off the tldr guys. But here is the AFC West and a link if you want to see the whole list. Wouldn't you know it, they list Maholmes as our worst pick. But they got Dungver right, listing the mouth breathing Bolles as their worst pick.

Kansas City Chiefs: Pat Mahomes, QB – Texas Tech (10th Overall)

This was huge stretch for a project quarterback with huge question marks entering the NFL. The Chiefs gave up the 27th and 91st overall pick as well as a 2018 first-round pick to jump 17 spots and draft a quarterback who wasn’t the best available. Obviously they felt he was, but this is a lot to give up for a win-now team with a serviceable quarterback under center.

Oakland Raiders: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT – UCLA (88th Overall)

The Raiders could very well prove me wrong with this one, because Vanderdoes was very good at one point. The issue is, he was very good three years ago. He has the potential to be a valuable asset, but seems like a long shot at this point much in part due to injuries. There were better players on the board at this point.

Denver Broncos: Garrett Bolles, OT – Utah (20th Overall)

First and foremost, I believe the Broncos went need over value here, which is okay sometimes on a win-now team. However, I find it hard with every player under such scrutiny for every little indiscretion in their past, how Bolles’ just gets a pass through this whole process while others are plummeting for much less. He’s reformed and rehabbed, but so have others. So what makes him different?

Los Angeles Chargers: Desmond King, S – Iowa (151st Overall)

I didn’t love the Chargers going back to back safeties here after taking the superior Rayshawn Jenkins out of Miami in the previous round. The Chargers have multiple holes on this team and used five consecutive picks on just offensive line and safeties. The line certainly needed the help, but doubling up on safeties seems like a bit much.

I think you could fairly call the pick a reach, and we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but you are always going to have to give up a boatload of draft capital to get a first round QB. There are very few of them and most of them don't work out, it's always a big risk. Doesn't mean it's the wrong move.

The fact that they think we are win-now (i.e., they think this is a contending team) and that Alex Smith is potentially a Super Bowl QB shows that this piece can be safely discarded.

LMAO LMAO LMAO

Writer is dumber than Garrett Bolles. Mahomes and Vanderdoes are the two best picks of each team's draft.

I mean, whatever.

Yeah, I wasn't saying that I agreed with him. I actually posted it so that we could all ridicule him. Nobody has taken a preseason snap, yet this writer thinks he knows the worst pick on each team? Of course with the Donks, it's a different challenge. All of ElFraud's picks are so bad, that finding the one that will bust the hardest is it's own challenge. SO taking the mouthbreathing first round tackle makes perfect sense.

I thought this might be of all-time... was hoping to see Ashley Lelie on that list.

That writer better watch his back...

From a Fox Sports outsider's perspective..I can see the Malhomes pick being viewed as a reach. He IS a project...and the Chiefs bet the farm on him.

KC didnt have any glaring needs other than ILB...and I'm sure they didn't think Foster would still be there at the bottom of the 1st. Smith has one legitimate contracted year left so the timing played into it.

It's a boom or bust pick....but a few other teams were planning to draft him in the top 15. Chiefs are a true deep threat QB away from being a constant SB contender.

Red Dawg 07-19-2017 12:25 PM

What a dumbass article. It's only a reach if he's a bust. Right now no player is a reach.

KUDOS to the Chiefs for finally drafting a QB in the 1st rd since 1983. Mahomes is in a great spot in that he gets to sit on the bench and learn while also playing for a team with a great defense.

Vanderdoes was hurt 2 years ago while playing like a 1st rd talent. Last year he was playing overweight after recovering from injury. He's now in great shape entering training camp.

The Broncos need to build their O-line and the took one of the top OL in the draft. Can't blame them there.

The Chargers obviously felt King was a great value even though they had prev drafted a safety in the same draft. When has a 151st pick ever been a reach?

You don't know what a reach is, do you?

AssEaterChief 07-19-2017 12:31 PM

We will see a couple years from now....it is impossible to say anything at this point until we see them on the field.

Reerun_KC 07-19-2017 01:13 PM

The chiefs portion had to be written by a "Homer true fan" still living in the Marty years.

vailpass 07-19-2017 01:18 PM

Shit to write when there isn't shit to write about.

staylor26 07-19-2017 01:23 PM

Gotta love how all of these idiots in the media think Mahomes is too much of a project when Reid, Gruden, McAdoo, Payton, and maybe even Arians disagree.

Yea, I'll go with the latter on this one.
