That’s at least the second time Crennel has said as much after a blowout loss, and barring a series of miracles on the level of unicorns cooking your dinner tonight, those words will come to define his time in Kansas City the same way that never-say-it-can’t-get-worse line defines Buddy Bell’s.

Cassel probably would have been better today.

In the long run, if Quinn got up to speed, he might be a slight improvement. Hard to judge a guy when the running game is ass.

At the very least, the Chiefs did embarrass themselves in new ways on Sunday. They’ve been telling anyone who’d listen that turnovers are their biggest problem — it’s all turnovers; just take care of the ball — but here they played even on turnovers against one of the NFL’s (other) worst teams and lost by four touchdowns. A defense that had shown promising signs gave up more than nine yards per play against what had been the league’s 30th-ranked offense.

Ah, I have been wondering when people would start discussing the coaching. No big surprise, really. Crennel was an uninspired, and uninspiring, hire from the get go. It is exactly what one should expect when you hire a head coach who is trying to decide between "millionaire estates" and "countryside acres."
