Near disaster at my house

So, yesterday my neighbor who is a complete drunk, decides to burn some brush in a pasture of tall grass when we haven't had any moisture in weeks, and with a 25 mph wind blowing toward my property. He comes by around noon to tell us he will be burning. Bout 4PM, I take my kid rabbit hunting on the backside of my place. I get a phone call from doucheneighbor telling me and and my other neighbor that he as a "little problem" with the fire and may need help. We head that way, but 10 minutes later he calls to say it is under control. He sounds completely shitfaced on the phone. Soooo, last night, bout 10:30, the wife lets the dog out, sees a glow, and smells smoke. She wakes me up, I throw on some jeans and boots and walk to the fence line. HOLY CRAP!!! About 3 acres of his field, my fnece line brush, and the start of the woods to the west are ablaze. I jam home, call the fire dept, and watch the wind blow the fire towards my house and woods for the next 7 minutes till they show up. Anyhoooo, I'm tired as shit today. Got to bed about 1:30 after I had to go back out and check on it per the fire dept. Dont be a doucheneighbor!

Why you gotta be all down on douchbagneighbors?

Dave Lane 01-16-2012 11:38 AM

Do you live near a big tree by any chance?

Iron Chef 01-16-2012 11:39 AM

I hope you told douchbagneighbor when he came by that this is probably a very bad idea.

Not any longer.

I'm glad your place didn't burn, tooge. I would have been pretty angry.

My lil locomotive started a fire in the woods down in Fordland Missouri. Once the fire gets up into the trees 12 ft or so. Your just screwed till the fire trucks get there.
Glad you, your family & property just got a scare,& nothing to serious went down.

I'd be interested to see how your house did in a fire. It's not impervious to fire but it would be more fire resistant than most considering the fiber concrete siding.

Oh - I see the cross-thread humor now. He actually had one of the oldest trees in the state until a storm downed it 3-4 years ago. Pin-oak... The thing was such a monster that the trunk still sits. People got sick of buying chainsaw blades for free firewood.

Waiting for the thread.......So, yesterday I was burning some brush.

Everytime i see you post, I expect it to be a tweet with some NFL news. So naturally, I thought this would be a tweet about this guy's house.
