...what food-items do you remember your parents or guardian carting?

I think mine was Milgram's on Seven Hwy. across from Zarda Dairy.

Mom bought Seitz Hot-dogs and Mac-n-cheese loaf.

Also, bagged cereal. We were poor like the dickens.

Can you share your story?

Thank you.

My grocery store memories are not very well defined, but I have a vague memory of being about five or six years old and really, really, really wanting these chewy chocolate sticks that were "astronaut food", and then when I got them at some point they really weren't all that impressive.

On rare occasion, I'd get one of those kelly green packs of Topps BB cards, If I was REALLY lucky.

However, Mom n Pops managed to give us $5.00 per week for spending at Blue Springs Skating-Rink. That would get me a Dr. Pepper, a twin pack of WillieWonka Watermelon Jaw-breakers, and a pizza square, also for certain a few games of Centipede.

$5.00 a week? A WEEK? How much did they pay Jeeves the butler?

I got squat. My allowance was 25 cents a week up until about fourth grade, and then it supposedly went up to a dollar a week, but the dollars arrived very sporadically and then stopped. I was then a scavenger until I started working in sixth grade.

There are a few left here in Atlanta, they're basically the United Super's of the south. Small shitty stores, Shitty but sentimental. That's how some safeways are too.

I remember those things. I was excited to try them and when I did, I thought they got a batch of dog food mixed up in the processing, at the plant.
