Jamaal Lewis Available
The Cleveland Browns announced their release of veteran running back Jamal Lewis Wednesday as the team continues its makeover under new president Mike Holmgren.
Lewis' future in the NFL is uncertain. He initially said that 2009 would be his final season. But after spending time on injured reserve with post-concussion syndrome, Lewis later hinted that he may be open to returning. Either way, it won't be for the Browns. The release makes Lewis an unrestricted free agent and free to sign with any team if he doesn't retire. Lewis rushed for 10,607 yards and 58 touchdowns in his career with the Browns and Baltimore Ravens. He made the Pro Bowl in 2003 when he rushed for 2,066 yards with Baltimore. His legs are real tired, but he has continued to be somewhat effective late in his career. He fits the physical mold for the type of back people would like to spell Charles. Worth a look? Or are two Jamaals too many for one backfield, in this case? |

Man...
I get that he's old as ****, but on a cheap-ass contract, he could churn out a few yards when you need him to. |

Thumbs down while making obnoxious farting noise.

He wouldn't be bad as a power back for short yardage situations to spell JC.

Alright, alright. I'm not saying this is a move we should pursue in any way. Just a mention to gauge what other people think about this. The guy did have a thousand yard season in '08, though. '09 was a rough year for him. Real rough.

Well, at least you refrained from saying he could show Charles "the ropes"
|
If moving mach negative one were the ropes, Lewis could show him that.
It was just for considering him as a short-yardage guy, if he still wants to play. |
