I have made my decision..

I have made the decision to go ahead and have my surgery. It will be having it in February. I have already been cleared for it. I am going to use my tax check to pay up my bills. I am nervous.

Has anyone on here had decompression surgery on the L5 and S1? I would like to know what its like when you go home and how well it releived your pain. Or if you had problems after surgery that ended up making you regret having it to start with.

Input will be helpful as I am very scared.

Thanks,
Gloria

Sounds like it would be a better idea to ask a full range of questions to a doctor instead of getting advice from Redrum on ChiefsPlanet.

Just me though.

I'll buy your pain-pills.

Chopping your penis off is kind of extreme, but if it makes you feel better..

You should get a boob job while getting the spinal decompression.

you'll be relieved once it's over, it wont be bad at all. You'll be fine, Gloria.

I had back surgery in March 2008- it got rid of my sciatica, but I still have back pain. I need to know more about the decompression and wonder if I'm a candidate for it.

Depends on what's causing your back pain. I had it done, and it helped. Didn't cure it, but made it much better. Pain eventually went away. It's expensive as hell, or at least it was when they first started doing it a few years ago.

EDIT: I'm talking about the decompression table. Sorry, I think of decompression, and that's what comes to mind.

My disc has already ruptured, actually my leg and foot hurt more than my back. It is compressing a nerve root on the right side. He said he would be removing part of the bone and replacing it with either a bone out of my hip or a cadaver bone,I chose the cadaver bone. I think there are other forms of decompression without the surgery.
