Topeka Folks: Happy Hour?

Any Topeka folks want to chime in on your favorite place to go for Happy Hour?

There is no such thing as "Happy Hour" in Kansas :(

I like to go to Old Chicago though. I'm at beer #50 in to my second World Beer Tour.

I know technically there isn't for drinks, but some places still offer food discounts and such.

Kansas liquor laws prohibit a bar or restaurant from selling alcohol for a reduced price during certain hours. It has to be all day or nothing.

And, you have to sell it the same in all areas. Jul's in Topeka is a restaurant and a club. They had to decide to offer drink specials in both sides or none at all.

Well, we'll save a table for you in mid-July again, if you are coming. :)

they also don't sell beer until 12 on sundays. So i will go to church instead of drinking.

Hey, at least they are selling it on Sundays now. This is something that just started in the past year or two. Before that, state law prohibited liquor stores from being open on Sundays. But there is still that stupid 3.2% beer sold in grocery and convenience stores. No liquor sold in those places.

Beer sold in liquor stores, btw, is 6% alcohol. Compared to that 3.2 flu crap sold in grocery stores.

I don't really go out to bars much at all. I'm mostly a drink at home kind of guy. Once in awhile, I might have a few beers at places like Texas Roadhouse or Old Chicago.
