N.O. management asking price is way too high for the #2 pick this year.
49ers | Saints asking price high for No. 2
Fri, 28 Apr 2006 23:36:02 -0700 Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the San Francisco 49ers are trying to trade up with the New Orleans Saints to the No. 2 spot in the NFL Draft, but the Saints asking price is high. The Saints are asking the 49ers for their No. 6 pick, plus the extra first-round pick they have at No. 22 and next season's first-round pick. Jets | Saints asking price high for No. 2 Fri, 28 Apr 2006 23:35:35 -0700 Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets are trying to trade up with the New Orleans Saints to the No. 2 spot in the NFL Draft, but the Saints asking price is high. The Saints are asking the Jets for one of two packages, according to an agent who represents one of the draft's top players: The Jets' pick at No. 4, plus their first-round selection at No. 29 and their first-round pick next season or the Jets' pick at No. 4, plus their first-round selection at No. 29, their second-round pick at No. 35 and their second-round pick next season. |
Sounds like they are trying to cash in big on this one. I would imagine their asking price would be more reasonable when it gets closer to the time they make their pick.

Adding next years #1 pick is way over the top, IMO.

N.O. is full of crap with these offers.

One of ESPN's "ground breaking" reporters said that the Saints have no interest in trading the pick. One has to wonder if they're making the asking price too much just to mess with their heads.

Maybe New Orleans is trying to get back some of those picks Ditka gave up when he gave up all of their picks and some of their next year's picks for that Dopehead Ricky Williams :hmmm:

You could give the Ain'ts the first 5 picks and they would still suck.

Thanks buddy. I need to get the word out that Rausch is a neo Nazi.

That is a pretty high price, when you consider the 49ers pick next year will probably be top 5.
If I was SF I would still do it, they really need a player like Bush. They just lost the best player on thier team to Seattle, and he played on the other side of the ball. DT |
The Ain'ts are happy to take Bush, so if somebody else wants him, they'll have to badly overpay. I don't think that's a bad move from New Orleans at all. Seems to me, they don't really want to move at all.
