Broncos | Team needs to clear nearly $30 million for 2006 salary cap

The Associated Press reports the Denver Broncos need to pare close to $30 million off the 2006 season salary cap. The situation could mean several players will not be with the team next year. C Tom Nalen, OT Matt Lepsis, DL Gerard Warren, and DL Courtney Brown are all possible victims.


I'd take Warren and Brown

From what I understand this crap doesn't mean much (at this point in the offseason). Last I heard, the Chiefs were supposedly 28 mil over.

Meh, whatever.

The better news is that the Broncos lost. I will be able to watch the big game now.

Why?? we already have our underperformers: Sims and Hicks.

I'd bet that Warren and Lepsis will stick around. Nalen may move on to Houston and Brown is as good as gone. FA Bust.

They'll get it figured out and KC is also over the projected cap by a good many millions as I recall.

Lots of guys, like Pryce, will be asked to restructure their contracts. Nalen will get an offer and hopefully it's a good one for his age. The Broncos really have to kick ass in this next draft to fill holes with youth.

They have the 2 first rounders and sounds like an extra third for Hayward and Kennedy.

They need Oline / WR / QBoTF / Dline focus in the draft. I read an article today that I agree with regarding the Dline, yes they did well, but they don't sack the QB enough. They need size and speed on the line to consistently get at the QB.

We'll see what happens, but I'm not too concerned about the cap at this point. Contracts will be renegotiated.
