An open apology
I apologize. For everything.
I have clearly misunderstood how seriously some people take this stuff. To me, this was harmless fun, an exchange of insults among fans of different teams. We don't know each other and these are just words typed on a message board. I didn't intend to hurt anyone. But now I have been hurt. Badly. My employment status has been affected. So I am sorry. I truly didn't mean for it to come to this. |

Care to compare standardized test scores between Philly and KC?
Ignorance and stupidity abound in the city of brotherly love. By the way, when was the last time a team from Philly won a title in anything? Sixers in 1983 is all that comes to mind. |
Oh, how the mighty have fallen ... to their knees.

I'm sorry if your employment was affected, but you're the one who bent over, spread your pretty city cheeks and dared the entire board to fist you. Smack is fine, but what you did was an out and out challenge. Apology accepted. |
I would be merciful and let this go. But that's just me.

Man, I feel sorry for you- I really do...
You insulted the integrity and the intelligence of Chief's fans, football fans, and Kansas Citiens everywhere. I will personally accept your apologies, but let it be known Kansas City, it's people, and it's fans our the best in the world- and they will always, if not courageously, be so in devotion. |
Very good. We've all learned a lesson today. Are you ready to discover how forgiving midwesterners can be? I accept your apology and will take administrative action on the threads in question immediately.
Are you ready to talk some football now? |
Merci beaucoup

I think people ought to accept his apology and move on.

It's a public board dude...
It's like everybody is sitting at Starbucks, you run in and piss on the table while slapping the coffee out of everybody's hands "in good fun," and then running off accidentally dropping a business card... I guess you've learned a lesson here... If you're going to be a jackass, you'd better not do it while using the company's computer... or, more appropriately... If you're going to be a jackass, know where the line is, and don't cross it... because the further you cross, the deeper the line on your side will get crossed. |
I think some people on this board should be grateful that the administrators of the Eagles board didn't take the same approach that people did here.
|
Are you apologizing for what you said, or are you apologizing for getting caught?

I have no idea what you did, but I did see a post attributed to you that contained some slanderous generalizations.
I'd think you, as an attorney, would have realized that you're opening yourself up to charges of prejudice for the rest of your career. I know if I was opposing counsel I'd do everything in my power to show that you have problems with wide segments of the population. And I'm really questioning your skills by posting an apology that essentially admits that you're the author of the disparaging commentary. |

AH - Most your smack talking was name calling, pretty weak. You should really keep an eye on this place, its actually pretty enjoyable as we have fans from many teams that are regulars here, and some who just stop in from time to time.
I think we should all know better then to go after someone job and the like on this BB, it has happened to members here. I think it is a line that doesn't need to be crossed. |

So I appreciate the acceptance of my apology from those of you who did, in fact, accept it. But, as you may expect, my posting days are over. Forever. Again, I'm very sorry if I truly offended anyone, as I apparently did. |
I'd never do anything to fook with a guys job....wouldn't want the same. Most of us would probably at least get in trouble if "they" realized how much time we're "here".
The personal ads are funny, hotornot et al....but I wouldn't go after a guys job for what he did....even if he was being a total douchious magnificus bagili |

I'm not buying that. Your boss doesn't know anything, and now you are spinning out of your smack talk because you fear the possible reprocussions. |

Emailing the guy's boss was just too much.
I can be immature at times: i.e. Mr. Rogers Cild molestation question. but to harms someones way of life is going WAY over board. Please tell me none of you nit-pickers did this. That wasn't even called for if the Mod's didn't do anything about it. The Planet has too many people that, because they've been here a while, think they're mods. You aren't a MOD for a reason. I'm glad it's the way it is. ~ Not funny anymore ~ |

Chiefs | Barber Official - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com) 9:12 PT: Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Monday the team has officially agreed to terms of a seven-year contract with free agent LB Shawn Barber (Eagles). "Shawn Barber was our top priority at the 'Will' linebacker position," Peterson commented. "He possesses the skills, abilities and experience that should improve our defense immediately. He has played with one of the top defenses in the NFL in Philadelphia. We look for him to bring that experience with him to our defense." |

Now, that's stepping waaaaaaay over the line.;) I agree, no need to send stuff to the guys boss. I an idle threat to do so would have been plenty. However, there is a bit of me that suggests that KC Kings may be on to something in his commentary......:hmmm: |
I think the emailing the boss thing is just a ploy. If somebody really emailed your boss, post the email addresses and headers of the message so we can find out who did so. I don't think anybody would do that over some relatively minor infractions in Netiquette. I was hoping this would have a happy ending and we could talk football.

I'm hoping the kid just learned his lesson. I have ZERO problems with smack so long as it is good natured and at least SOMEWHAT CREATIVE.
Like I mentioned earlier, the smilies are there for a reason. I didn't send a gift subscription of The Advocate to his office, although an International Male catalog wouldn't be a bad idea. Let us know if we can, individually or collectively, send a message to your superiors expressing our sentiments. Nobody should lose their job over something like this. One thing you should know, AH. We're not idiots. There are some very competent computer professionals on this board as you are now aware. You wouldn't be the first person to underestimate the intellect of the Midwesterners and you won't be the last. Sorry you had to learn the hard way that we are proud of where we live and where we choose to rear our children. I want the picture posted here - you, Priest Holmes jersey, sign that says 'I'm sorry'. |

I hope you'll come back to chat football when everything blows over. |

As a person who used to live and work in New York City, I get very offended when East Coast-types start with all of that intellectual inferiority of the Midwest garbage. Trust me. I've lived in both the New York and Missouri, I can firmly attest that people from the Midwest are generally smarter, better-spoken and more highly educated than most New Yorkers. |
Damn, that's some harsh stuff. It's always quite amusing to see a jackass get humbled. Of course, I don't know about emailing his work. Oh well, hopefully he's learned a valuable lesson here today.
