18.9 percent pass-rush win rate this past season.
That'll play. |
Seems like he didn’t play much, so must have impressive measurables.
Is this a day one contributor with that little experience? Someone fill me in. |
At least we have something to discuss besides Josh Simmons' injury history

This guy is a much much better version of Wharton. He is gonna be so good here. I love this pick
|
projected as a third or fourth rounder - seems like a bit of a reach? Someone talk me into this pick.

Plus, the Chiefs were picking at end of 2nd round. Sometimes you have to treat end of the rounds as a beginning of a new round. |
Analysis from different sources, don’t shoot the messenger:
ESPN: “Pre-draft analysis: Norman-Lott explodes off the ball, gets under offensive linemen and drives them into the backfield. He is long and strong enough to press blockers with his frame, and he rarely stays blocked. He gets into gaps to disrupt plays, and he tracks the ball well before chasing it down with good effort. Norman-Lott also gets off the ball well, and he always attacks the outside shoulder of the offensive guard as a pass rusher. Maintaining violent hands, he can squeeze the pocket and shed at the top of his rush as a bull rusher. -- Steve Muench Post-Draft Analysis I was the lowest on Norman-Lott of our group of analysts, but the defensive tackle board has really been wiped out throughout the opening two rounds. Kansas City needed to identify a tackle who can play next to Chris Jones -- and maybe even serve as his eventual replacement. Norman-Lott's high potential is backed by his explosive quickness and overall athletic tools. He'll get to learn how to be more consistent alongside one of the best defensive tackles in the league. -- Matt Miller” The Athletic: “ 63. Kansas City Chiefs: Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee Norman-Lott is this draft’s ultimate boom-or-bust defensive lineman. He flashes plenty of athletic ability and potential to make big plays (combined 9.5 sacks the last two seasons), but he make a single start in 2024 and averaged just 17.3 snaps per game. Based on athletic ability, Norman-Lott could start for a decade; based on precedent, he could be out of the league in three years. This is a little high for that type of risk.” Walter football: “ Kansas City Chiefs: Omar Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee – B+ Grade The Chiefs need offensive line more than anything, but they also had to find a defensive tackle to play next to Chris Jones. Omar Norman-Lott could be a quality starter. He’s a smaller defensive tackle, but gets good pressure on the quarterback. He makes sense at the bottom of Round 2.” |

I get it. I just hope we find some sleepers in the 5th and 7th rounds like we did with Trey Smith or Jaylon Watson. Hard to get excited about a rotational guy at the end of the second round. We have had plenty of rotational guys that have been pretty good, but only Wharton blossomed into someone who was a talented starter. I hope I am wrong and he turns out to be the next Chris Jones. |
Ok gimme a 4.3 running back with solid hands next, Brett

I really hope they let this guy play next to Jones right away on passing downs. It will absolutely be a problem.
|
Both these two new DL fit great with the loop stunt twist game that they run. Different size and styles playing pick n roll or more like pick and smack. Fun highlights on this guy

Dumbass. |
Know absolutely nothing about him. I don’t really watch college football. I did see that he's only ever started 5 games in his life. Why?

Thank f*** for that, some DT help. Nice pick
|
Him not being a full time starter in college is a question mark but the talent is definitely there and that pass rush win rate looks nice
|
Quote:
I don't know I'm as high on him as some, but we desperately needed a DT, and he looked the best left at that point. Definite upgrade on Wharton too. Got to be pretty happy with the pick. |
Improvement at the front of this defense (ONL, Tillery), improvement on the back end (Fulton). This defense was already very good last year, but it could be absolutely killer in 2025

We don't draft any Sanders "I'm going to get mine" types. |
I like Lot as a rotational piece, but what was wrong with Darius Alexander here? Even though he played 3-tech mainly, he could still play the other positions if needed. I'm guessing Lot is more of a Spags type, but will he ever be a full-time starter?
|
Clearly, the Chiefs wanted to get a guy who could get after the quarterback with this one. Felt like a rather substantial reach, but that's whatever at this point. Farmer is still on the board headed into day 3, so they obviously had a much higher ranking on Lott. Like the player, concerned about him holding up against the run, and there is a development runway.
|
Not what I was expecting, but I see the fit.
Not sure he ever is much more than what he is currently, but that can be a productive player, too. |
