Shedeur Sanders

Anyone have him falling out of the first round completely?
Shocking.

Garcia Bronco 04-25-2025 06:58 AM

He's not a very good quarterback although the physical tools are there.

The Colorado buffaloes have experienced an uptick and talent and results, It's not like he came in here and won the pac-12 or the big whatever. The buffalos never made the college football playoff even with the team expansion. He was throwing the ball to what many people consider to be the best athlete in the draft this year. If you draft him you have to deal with his family.

Ball all of that up together and would you draft him? I wouldn't unless I was desperate.

GordonGekko 04-25-2025 06:59 AM

Steelers don't have a QB, maybe they go get him?

Katipan 04-25-2025 07:03 AM

Do the Steelers need sunglasses?

tmax63 04-25-2025 07:03 AM

Knowing who his dad is and all the crap that was talked about "who he wouldn't play for so don't draft me" stuff, I'm not suprised at all. There's only been a couple of guys who tried to determine where they went and I don't see him in that class.

Yo Murphy. 04-25-2025 07:06 AM

Aint nobody got time for Bronny Jr.

Did he actually say that?

I read a report that he would be excited to play anywhere he was drafted.

tmax63 04-25-2025 07:15 AM

I read/heard somewhere that dad was letting a few teams know that they didn't need to waste a pick on him because he wouldn't go there. Don't really remember but I think it was dad saying he would convince/advise/stop him from certain teams. All behind the curtain all hush-hush, not a widespread announcement.

TinyEvel 04-25-2025 07:16 AM

I saw a quote from an anonymous VP of personnel said “worst interview I’ve ever seen”

Plus his record was something like 13-12 and no title

staylor26 04-25-2025 07:16 AM

He's simply not good enough to be as arrogant as he is.

He's going to need to be humbled like Baker was IMO.

displacedinMN 04-25-2025 07:20 AM

Who wants that circus?

Then if the steelers do take him, with tomlin on the hot seat, Daddy will be angling for that job.

I did read this.

The report said he seemed “disinterested”, which is never a good look in job interviews.

Now that you mention it, I do believe I read about that somewhere.

It’s definitely possible that Shedeur would use his dad as a mouthpiece by proxy. Let him publicly say the things that he can’t.. could also have been Deion being Deion and doing his own thing. Could also have been bogus from the start.

Either way, I am interested in seeing how his career develops. He will have many, many haters.

I heard this too. It was anonymous, but OTOH, it sounds about right.

I can't imagine how much trouble a kid like this would be if things aren't going right. I'm reminded of the trouble Mike Leach had at Texas Tech when he took Craig James' entitled brat kid into the program. No coach wants to deal with any situation like that.

Sassy Squatch 04-25-2025 07:26 AM

Browns is my assumption.

ChiTown 04-25-2025 07:27 AM

His interviews with Teams apparently went poorly, so no, this doesn’t surprise me at all. Also, he was far more interested in taking a sack vs throwing incompletions. I’m NOT a fan at all.

Conversely, I love Cam Ward. Dude is absolutely solid

nicksdad 04-25-2025 07:27 AM

He will go somewhere in the 2nd. He seems similar to Geno Smith who many thought would be a high pick, but fell to the 2nd.

I liked the comp the Browns received.

The #2, a 4th and 6th for #5, 2nd, 4th and 2026 1st is huge. The Browns could end up sitting on two top 5 picks in 2026, which should be a more QB friendly draft.

Sassy Squatch 04-25-2025 08:12 AM

Right, and it ain't just a 2026 first. It's the Jaguars 2026 first. That team ****ing sucks and as nice a player as Hunter is they'll still almost assuredly be picking top 10 next season with a real possibility of top 5.

this is silly. Baker was never humbled... he went to the Browns, who will readily admit giving up on him and selling the farm for Watson was soooo dumb.

Baker was definitely humbled. He won the Heisman, and was the 1.1 pick, and he had to beg teams for a chance to start after Cleveland. If the NFL QB situation wasn't so bad, he may not even be a starter now because he may never have gotten an opportunity to prove himself.

I personally think Sanders is comparable to Tua, as they are both accurate with very mid arms, and they are both probably near the bottom in athleticism for an NFL QB.

Herbert hasn't won anything, but if I was a Dolphins fan, I would still be wondering what Herbert to Hill would have looked like.

So, why is that a first round pick? I mean, he wasn't even Geno Smith in college, so why would he be a first round pick?

The ESPN/NFL Network hype machines did everything they could to promote Sanders as the possible first overall pick, but it wasn't because he should have been a first round pick, and more about viewership and clicks, and now social media is ripe with fools claiming it was racial, blah blah blah.

The baker mayfield example is a great one. But not for the reasons you think.

I hated the idea of bringing Odell Beckham to kc. I just care too too much about locker room drama. I can handle off the field character issues if people like you. What he did to throw his coaches and baker under the bus was despicable. Yet people let him off the hook because he’s charismatic and talented. I don’t want teammates like that. It was a unique thing because Odell was liked by teammates but to the point of turning everyone against certain teammates. I feel like that’s shedeurs destiny. He has the same bad habit of throwing his teammates under the bus but the media loves it because it’s entertaining and “charming.”

Unless he has Patrick Mahomes like talent or your team is just super desperate to get media attention, that is a huge red flag.

In the first 10 picks of Round 2 the Browns have 2 picks, and the Saints and the Jets have 1. If he gets past those picks he is probably ****ed. If he doesn't he is probably also ****ed.

Simple Simon 04-25-2025 11:24 AM

If the Browns don't take him, the next team down would be the Saints. And if they don't take him... the Jets. Of course, there is potential for trades, too. I can see Tampa drafting him.

If he goes to the Browns we all know how this ends.

If he goes to the Jets.. LOL.

The Saints are probably his best bet.

It would be hilarious to see him go in the 3rd round.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-25-2025 11:31 AM

What physical tools does he have? He has subpar arm strength, he isn't mobile, and he has the worst sack rate in college history despite playing in an offense that was designed for him. He's a 3rd or 4th round prospect.

Generally speaking QBs are overdrafted every year. Weak teams have to take swings. Just a month or two ago Sanders and Ward were the consensus #1 and #2 QBs.

While I dont think Sanders was an early first round QB, he warrants a shot in late 1st or 2nd round. His accuracy is said to be excellent and he did most of his work with a horrible Oline. If he had a different last name it's possible he wouldn't have had so much bad press.

Having said that, Ive read his interviews were horrible so that did him no favors.

It's why I flipped between Chiefs youtube creators this draft. There's homers and goobers but it's all Chiefs related and how it impacts KC's draft instead of random presenters and 5 minute stretches of comments about someone's outfit.

Even when bad it's better than ESPN.

He seems to me the type of QB that would get a coach fired. Browns maybe better off adding pieces to their roster and hope for a QB next year.

Vladimir_Kyrilytch 04-25-2025 02:16 PM

Yeah I did. I bet the under 2.5 QBs taken in the first round prop bet at +170. That profit covered 12% of what I lost on the under in the first game of the Royals doubleheader.

12% ain't nothing.

I am surprised the Steelers didn't draft him then surprised the Browns didnt.

He doesn't have the biggest arm and despite who his father is he is not an elite athlete but he's really pretty accurate and a good playmaker on the run.

He had the worst offensive line in power 5 football last year. It was truly putrid and he still put up numbers. Colorado is a weird team because they would have like 6 guys on their team who are really good and then HUGE holes at almost every other position.

Ball all of that up together and would you draft him? I wouldn't unless I was desperate.

I would argue hes a good QB and the physical tools arent there as much.

I’m not surprised. He’s not that good. He’s not Jaylen Daniel’s.

Sanders like Mahomes doesn't play defense.

I think a big reason he isn't getting drafted is because NFL head coaches who have say who they draft are scared if they get him and he struggles it will be their head and they will rush to Deion to coach him.

Holy shit another non-Shedeur QB just got drafted.

It’s not the physical tools that has been keeping him from being drafted.
