*****2025 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2025 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE RETURN TO GLORY

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:

Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!") or asking "questions" after the news is already out to make it seem like you're a genius guesser (ex: "Vegas gonna take player here?").
  2. Don't be a dick.

Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.

Quote:

NOTE: Like in year's past, I will be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP.
These separate player threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, but outside of this thread. This means if you are in the lounge, you may see the player prior to the TV announcement.
I will also link the player threads below, shortly after they are drafted. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #28: Josh Simmons
Round 2, #63: Omar Norman-Lott
Round 3, #66: Ashton Gillotte
Round 3, #85: Nohl Williams
Round 4, #133: Jalen Royals
Round 5, #156: Jeffrey Bassa
Round 7, #228: Brashard Smith

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

Here are our prior years' Draft Threads:

A down vote for Dante 84 and KCCrow? Man that's harsh. This place has a lot of quality posters. But when it comes to the draft, those two set the pace around here! Different ways. But we are truly blessed to have those two!

If so, hopefully it gets put in the Saccopoo Memorial Draft room.

Yeah, I imagine if there's a guy we like in the mid-rounds, we might pull a pick forward from 2026. Who knows, though.

Hammock Parties 04-23-2025 07:46 PM

George Pickens has unfollowed the #Steelers on IG….

Vladimir_Kyrilytch 04-23-2025 07:59 PM

Have they announced when the draft will be, I mean which picks are on which days? Is it top ten the first evening, then the 22 remaining first rounders the next night (day?) then do they do a full round per day for the next 6 days I assume? Or is the first ten picks of each round it's on night event so they'll do that for all 7 rounds? Will the draft be over before my syphilis clears up?

Bring back one draft, one event. Tired of all these 'we will announce 4 picks then break for the next night's approaches. I have no clue how many picks will be shown tomorrow. Just 10? The whole first round? Some middle ground like show 20 picks but no more?

Chieftain 04-24-2025 12:38 AM

If Conerly and Burden get picked before us, is Alfred Collins considered a reach at 31? I really like his game. Big, athletic run stuffer at a position of need.

Yes. He was considered a late 2 to mid 3 guy before some injury stuff came out. He could slip a little from that projection.

You want the premier run stuffer in the draft who isn't that much of a reach (top-40 rank), look at Tyleik Williams from Ohio State.

Chieftain 04-24-2025 02:28 AM

All indications from what I've read is that Conerly is projected to be an eventual starter one day. I hope Veach doesn't **** this up. I think he should trade up a couple of spots like he did with Worthy last year to draft the LT. We need certainty at the position. It gets tiring when you try to patch it up every season. This kid seems legit. Make the move.

Rainbarrel 04-24-2025 03:07 AM

I'm starting to come around on this pick. I can see what Veach sees. The fans are going to love this guy. BBQ places are going to be fighting to name a sandwich after this stud. The Arrowhead statue planning begins today. We can't waste this man's career we have to get him complementary people around him. He'll bring in some beautiful armcandy to pre-game. No way he plays the last pre-season game. If Andy Reid doesn't start him game one I'll lose it

JPH83 04-24-2025 03:08 AM

Massive time delay here but very excited and cautiously optimistic. Go Chiefs!

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I think it's sorta terrible the way Shedeur has been torn down by anonymous sources over the last two months. I'm sure he's entitled (he's a rich kid son of a HOF player) but the character assassinations seem to be pointed and personal. I wonder if it's guys protecting their jobs because of Deion and not wanting to let a Sanders in the building - sorta like the Ball brothers in the NBA - or what...

I mean, he might be aloof...but the Manziel comps are pretty low hanging fruit.

Anyway.... LETS GO DRAFT.

Same, although I take credit for all Chiefsplanet takes to my wife. I say things like "Chiefsplanet hated that guy" regardless of my own input, and in doing so I kind of take credit for all of your combined knowledge since I am part of Chiefsplanet. I get to pick and choose and it make it sound like this community is the ultimate body of football knowledge. And I am, of course, your king.

Hope so. That would make for a VERY entertaining first round.

It will also open the door to our Chiefs trading up to getting the player they really want, if everyone is so open to trading.

Being a complete back like he is it would be worth it. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the next best blitz pickup RB and fit for the pass offense after Henderson? In other words, is there another back that even comes close?

You wanna talk about a perfect fit for this offense this kid does it all. Exactly what Pat has always been missing. If they turn in the card im gonna go nuts.

Shockingly, I would not stand out very much. There are a lot of Chief fans here, it's fantastic to see! I ran into a few at Titletown yesterday (it's a giant park with a full size football field and tons of kids activities) and we chatted a bit.

Not sure I'm going to head down tonight as I expect it will be pure chaos, but tomorrow we're planning to head over in the mid-afternoon. I'll try to get some good pics, I can't believe how awesome everything looks.

Not a fan of taking a RB high unless they are absolutely special.

Gibbs or Brees Hall, sure.

TreVeyon Henderson would be special in this offense. He’s a perfect fit and he would immediately help this offense and team overall more than any pick we could make. He’s that good.

Unfortunately I think he’s going to Denver

petegz28 04-24-2025 10:11 AM

The draft in general...

Fans actually at the draft will cheer as if they just won the Super Bowl regardless of who their team drafts

Draftaholics will mostly complain about some combination of who a team drafts, where they drafted them and what they could or "should" have done

Just about everyone will be cheering for whomever gets drafted once the season starts.

Better than what we have on certain plays and downs?

Sure.

Kind of what I'm thinking; would they really take him over Hampton? I suppose if they see him as a better fit, we know they will always value that over better raw talent.
