Chargers, Lions to meet in 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game
 

The Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions will meet in the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, the Hall of Fame announced Wednesday.

It's been over 30 years since either team played in the Hall of Fame Game, with the Chargers' last appearance coming in 1994 and the Lions' in 1991.
It's a fitting appearance for the Chargers as former tight end Antonio Gates headlines the 2025 Hall of Fame class.

The game is set for July 31 in Canton, Ohio, with the Hall of Fame enshrinement following on Aug. 3.

Wether" refers to a castrated male sheep or goat. It's also the second word in "bellwether," which describes something that leads or sets a trend.

This is one tradition that we should just cancel. Just designate a mid season game as a hall of fame game or something.

I haven't watched this game since the last time the Chiefs played in it.

I will visit Canton when they play in the HOF game again.

That'll probably be in 2026 when Dustin Colquitt becomes a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

On that note, I looked up when he retired, and Google's "AI summary" says that he played for the Cardinals in 2024 and just retired. Is Google AI making stuff up, or did I miss something? I see no evidence that he played for the Cardinals in 2024.

It’s cruel, really. Before the game, both teams will be touted as Super Bowl favorites. But so many injuries will occur during the actual game that both squads will have to fold up shop for the season.
