Derek Carr might not be able to play this season

So that’s why the Saints have been a new destination for Shedeur.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Saints?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Saints</a> suddenly have a major QB question: Starter Derek Carr is now dealing with a shoulder injury that threatens his availability for this season, sources say. <br><br>Carr is weighing options, including the possibility of surgery. <a href="https://t.co/QNdc9ipE8P">pic.twitter.com/QNdc9ipE8P</a></p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1910799563134292007?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 11, 2025</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Even if Carr is healthy, the Saints should be looking to replace him.

DJ's left nut 04-11-2025 03:37 PM

If he's looking at shoulder surgery that would impact his season, that's a capsule joint and/or rotator cuff, right?

Even an AC joint wouldn't wipe out his season I wouldn't think.

If it's severe enough that missing the season is on the table, I think that's pretty much it for him. He's not a guy who can lose much and still be NFL caliber. He wouldn't come back until 35 years old.

That's gonna just about wrap up his career then unless he wants to go the backup route and bounce around the league cashing checks for another 3-5 seasons.

ThrobProng 04-11-2025 03:38 PM

So the Saints have a chance of improving. Interesting.

Spott 04-11-2025 03:38 PM

I forget he’s even in the league anymore.

He wasn't their problem.

But he's really not any sort of solution either. I suspect they know that.

But they've seemingly always been content just chilling in purgatory.

displacedinMN 04-11-2025 03:39 PM

If you have Carr, it is time to look other places.

At least he had a better career than his brother even if it didn't amount to much.

Bump 04-11-2025 03:54 PM

lol @ suddenly have a QB problem

Why Not? 04-11-2025 03:57 PM

He hasn’t been able to play for years.

FloridaMan88 04-11-2025 04:23 PM

Saints might as well start tanking for Arch Manning.

Pablo 04-11-2025 05:00 PM

Trade in your broken Carr for another complete pile of Shit-deur??

That would do more damage to New Orleans than Katrina

Rainbarrel 04-11-2025 05:05 PM

Carr weighing options sounds mascara smearing

Rain Man 04-11-2025 05:22 PM

They should consider donating him to 1-877-Carr4Kids to get the write-off.

yup. At this point in his career, he's transitioned to the stopgap role.

Carr or Peyton Manning????

scho63 04-11-2025 06:04 PM

I feel that Carr had the talent to be a much better QB with a great career but he went to one of the worst run franchises in the NFL and he became average at best with glimpses of excellence.

It was the injury that ****ed up his career.

RealSNR 04-11-2025 08:46 PM

Is he weighing the possibility of giving up and retiring? Because he totally should.

Eureka 04-11-2025 09:22 PM

IF he's lucky a team next year will be in need of an average QB but they have a great defense and offensive weapons. Like the Vikings or Steelers were last year.

Bro he’s been the problem on every team he’s ever played for
