I believe that's a spot where the runner doesn't mind getting thrown out at second because it guarantees they don't throw home and potentially throw out the scoring run. It's a thing, wazu, a thing.

Always get yourself out reaching for an extra base if possible before the top of the order comes up.

There was no way they were getting a play at the plate. I'm not inclined to give the Royals any benefit of the doubt when it comes to TOOTBLANs.

Royals games are much more fun to watch when Isbel and MJ are not in the lineup.
