HemiEd 04-03-2025 06:07 PM

Anyone check on Mosbonian and his rehab workout?

Bump 04-03-2025 06:07 PM

what the ****. Why wouldn't he just drop it?

or was this intentional for a video?

Rain Man 04-03-2025 06:09 PM

This is why I avoid deadlifting more than 450.

Wonder what happened... he pass out from holding his breath? WTF.

displacedinMN 04-03-2025 06:17 PM

truthfully, I read it as 'Man dies after lifting 500 pounds"

Yes. Usually the pass-out is after the rep is done though. It's usually orthostatic hypotension from valsalva (holding your breath hard under load) causing vessels to contract), then releasing and breathing again causes a sudden drop in blood pressure. I get it all the time after DLs and squats, but I'm smart enough to know when to sit or lean on something when my vision starts to go black.

And he didn't just drop it because he's strapped on.

Unfortunately he probably did major damage to his knees.

FloridaMan88 04-03-2025 06:47 PM

Man dies after lifting half of Brooke Pryor.

Jewish Rabbi 04-03-2025 06:52 PM

Didn’t know the Tardian was a brotha

Rain Man 04-03-2025 06:59 PM

I suspect he misunderstood the goal of dead lifting.

That actually used to be my best lift. Such a fun lift, too.

I got to the 400+ squat, 500+ deadlift club but could never get past 290 in the bench.

perhaps he wanted to be the first to get dead while deadlifting and have eternal youtube fame (for 1 video). That's why he held his breath even though breathing properly is extremely important with weight lifting.

jdubya 04-03-2025 07:19 PM

Vasovagal syncopal episode. Once he was unconscious and supine, he came right back. Similar to old people who push too hard taking a dump on the toilet. Push/pass out/fall on floor/wake up

Had a guy at the urinal next to me do that. At church.

Fell straight back with his dick out.

I had to help.

He was an ER doctor.

725!? Each to their own. I tend to like my women at less than 150lb.

Yea, no one should be doing that.
Worse than the vasoline vagisil thing you mention they could blow out an o-ring causing permanent damage to their balloon knot.

Did that lift 475lbs, dunked a few basketballs and then banged these blonde twins chicks with my big ole chili dog outside the tasty freeze.

Was wondering about that. I haven't tried a max deadlift since HS or college, but even then, I never held the lockout for more than a couple seconds. So I didn't understand why he held it hat long.
