2025 NFL Draft “Your Guy” Thread

The Draft version of adopting a Chief.

1 “guy” per poster. No repeats, please.

This is “your guy” in the upcoming Draft. Add to your sig if you have the balls to wear this one for the year.

smithandrew051 02-01-2025 09:53 AM

I’ve been pounding the table for my guy for 3 years. Devin Neal, RB, Kansas.

kccrow 02-02-2025 02:21 AM

Gotta get that dancing bear to protect Pat...

It's early but give me Josh Conerly Jr, LT Oregon

I really liked Troy Fautanu last year and Conerly is in that similar mold.

Was the top offensive lineman in high school football in 2021 and a 5-star recruit.
Was a First Team All-American this year.
Next step, All-Pro for your Kansas City Chiefs.

Couch-Potato 02-02-2025 08:32 AM

My guy is SMU HB Brashard Smith, in the 4th or 5th.

I think he’s the kind of versatile gadgety playmaker Andy really loves.

Not expecting a super star, but he’d be a great replacement for McKinnon as our 3rd down back.

Buehler445 02-02-2025 08:46 AM

Give me Devin Neal. It's stupid, but he's my guy.

SAGA45 02-02-2025 09:06 AM

Love me some Kyle Monangai, RB Rutgers!!!

Johnny Walker Jr DE Mizzou, 3rd round pick. He killed it at the senior bowl and has moved up the draft board. 9.5 sacks this year and 43 tackles.

staylor26 02-02-2025 10:28 AM

Judkins.

ntexascardfan 02-02-2025 11:37 AM

Gimme Trevion Henderson so we can have our own Breece Hall.

Looks like a good one to pin your hopes to. Probably in the top 15 RBs in this class and one that seems more reasonable for KC to actually take given that he won't be a 1st or 2nd round guy.

Hoover 02-02-2025 12:13 PM

Sign me up for Yahya Black, DT, Iowa

He's a late round steal. Dude's name got called all the time if you could stand to watch Iowa Football games. Love this dude. Especially late.

Darius Alexander. Liked him before the Senior Bowl and even more after. Would love him on the DL, especially if we could get him with a R3 pick.

I’m not ready to call him a my guy. I can’t get fully into draft mode until 8 days from now, but damn! He pops every time I watch him. Again haven’t watched it all but he looks like he’s got good balance, decent vision, patience and home run speed.

Palangi 02-02-2025 04:07 PM

Trevor Ettienne RB from Georgia. Has great speed and burst. Great agility and contact balance. Explosive. Reminds me of Cook the RB in Buffalo.

staylor26 02-02-2025 06:39 PM

Tre Harris WR from Ole Miss is another for me

Walker has some talent, that's for sure. But he's been prone lose his cool and get some boneheaded penalties. If they can coach that out him though, he could be a force.

Yeah he's day 3 or potential UDFA but I love the kid's approach to the game...his mental makeup. He's like a mini-Kareem lol! I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes.

RunKC 02-03-2025 09:42 AM

It’s really early for this so it’s hard to state everyone.

However I can definitively say today that TreVeyon Henderson, Jahdae Barron and Xavier Watts would be incredible on this football team.

Titty Meat 02-03-2025 08:11 PM

Really liking the idea of Mike Green with Karlaftis & Jones ooo la la

duncan_idaho 02-04-2025 08:11 AM

My guy is going to be Theo Wease, WR, Missouri.

He was a 5-star recruit who didn’t pan out at Oklahoma. Was the quiet Robin the past two years at Mizzou to Luther Burden.

But he’s got good size (6-2), runs good routes and can make contested catches, can play inside or out, and is pretty fast.

I think he’ll run 4.4 at the Combine. I think he may work himself in early day 3/late day 2 consideration, but I think he’s going to be a good NfL WR and I could see him being a star, even.

Reminds me of Tee Higgins in build and route running. Think he would be a good middle of the field fit for us. 884 yards receiving with cook being out quite a few games is impressive. Had a great bowl game too when Burden was out.

I'll just use this as a place to occasionally tuck guys who I like.

Kyle Williams, WR - WSU.

Really interesting player, IMO. Really like his movement skills, good route runner, nice size and I think his speed is good, maybe not great.

Problem is we don't have a 5th and I'd be surprised if he's my favorite guy on the board at the back do the 4th.

That said, he might be my favorite WR left at that point and if so, I might take him there anyway or look for a trade down and hope to land him mid 5th.

As a comparison, I'm pretty positive I like him more than Wease and Theo is going as high as the third in some mocks.

Just one of those guys I think I'm a little higher on than most.

Meh. By the fourth round, if there's a guy you want just take him.

There was a guy who had him in round 2 then pulled him out with a recent update... I can't remember who it was but it may have been the guys at The Huddle Report. They pulled him from their new top 100, whoever it was. He's a sneaky good player that you absolutely take if he falls to the bottom of 4.

Megatron96 02-21-2025 02:01 PM

Oh fine, I’ll play.

Bearing in mind I have no idea where this guy is projected to go, but Savion Williams, WR, TCU, 6’5” 225-lbs. allegedly a 4.4 guy. Watched a little tape on him and saw parts of two games. Looked fairly good, particularly after the catch, and appears to be capable of intermediate to deep. Also, looked pretty physical at the catch point.

smithandrew051 03-06-2025 12:50 PM

Amending my guy to Logan Brown, OT, Kansas.

Neal’s 40 isn’t giving me hope that he provides enough burst at RB. His 10 yard split was bad too.

Conversely, Logan Brown impressed majorly and is my pick for a 3rd round or later OT project. This is assuming we sign a LT in FA.

I’m half tempted to just put the Texas Longhorns bc my God I love most of their prospects this year.

I'm quietly hoping the Chiefs draft him in the mid rounds but I don't know where he's expected to go in the draft.

I'm seeing him around our pick in the 4th pretty regularly now.

His “long speed” has been a question mark but his 10 yard split was really disappointing.

I think we need more burst unless we grab him late.

Wellllllllll....

Devin Neal measured in at 5'11" 213, ran a 4.58 with a 1.59 10-yard split, 37.5" vertical, and a 10'4" broad jump.

Here's how his scouting report from Zeurlein reads:
Quote:

Overview
Workload runner with NFL size and four years of steady production to help elevate the program. Neal runs with a nice blend of patience and decisiveness to choose the right lanes and maximize each carry. He lacks top-end burst and speed, which will shrink the field for him, but he’s a fall-forward runner with good contact balance and a nose for short-yardage conversions. He has good instincts and soft hands in space and can help as a leak-out or swing-pass option. His blue-collar approach isn’t exciting but it is effective and Neal has the ability to develop into a backup three-down back.

Kareem Hunt measured in at 5'11" 216, ran a 4.60 with a 1.58 10-yard split, 36.5" vertical, and a 9'11" broad jump.

Here's how his scouting report from Zeurlein read:
Quote:

Overview
Big back with plus vision and enough elusiveness to make the first defender miss. Feel for the rushing lane helps him choose the correct path between the tackles but lacks the burst to turn the 4-yard run into 14. Zone-scheme runner with serviceable hands out of the backfield. Adequate in most areas and has talent to become a backup that can step in and handle a bigger load if needed
Hunt has longer arms and bigger hands, but all else being equal, they do look and sound very, very similar.
