I figured this would be a long week and time for us to have a new thread :thumb:

smithandrew051 01-19-2025 08:39 AM

I’m in. Let’s roll!

cmh6476 01-19-2025 09:56 AM

I'm guessing the championship will be December 6 in Dallas. That should be the goal and should it happen, I'll try to be there :thumb:

RockChalk 01-20-2025 09:26 AM

Anyone heard anything regarding season tickets? I've had tickets since I was a KU student back in 2000, but the KU Athletics ticket office has been very quiet compared to previous years. I had heard some wild numbers being thrown around, but am hoping they have backed off a bit given the disappointment of 2024.

Just got the email. The shift to donation plus ticket price per ticket is starting with the upcoming football season and will start next basketball season as well.

Buddy of mine has a pair of season tickets that were $350 last year and would cost $1,500 to renew.

NIL era is insane that is quite the markup even with a new stadium.

Its not really that crazy if you are factoring in the brand new stadium as part of the valuation. If you value the actual program as middle of the road, then you'd probably take the middle of the road program with a brand new stadium and theoretically shopping/hotel area over all the other middle of the road teams. Being over Oregon is weird but I could see why we would be over Iowa.

Why can't they work 24 hours 7 days a week to finish the stadium faster. 3 shift a supervisor that bleed in between each shift to make sure everything is being followed right.

It was a pretty bare bones stadium last time I went to a game (20 years ago)

Glad to see they are improving it I guess

Hmmm, interesting.

Am I just getting old or does anyone else get annoyed when you hear a young person (usually a woman) end a normal sentence on an up pitch, as if it were a question? :banghead: The girl at about 3 minutes in, ugghh.

A few of the men do it as well it is just less noticeable because uptick in pitch doesn’t reach the “Valley Girl” stereotype range…

It all comes down to JD.

He kept them from winning several games last year. When he played fine (or at least minimized the mistakes), KU won.

And the wild card is two new coordinators. We need a RT and a backup tackle. Lots of unknown

Some people keep telling me that KU has no money. Blew it all on the Stadium and Bill Self. That we arent even Top 25 in NIL spending.

I don't know how that can be true. HD was the most expensive transfer in his class. AJ Storr was 3rd or 4th most expensive in his class. Just because they werent good doesn't mean we haven't had the money.
